P.A. Fisker, the man who founded Nilfisk-Advance, was an electrical engineer who really loved working with electrical motors. Founding the business in the year 1906, he began to make motors so as to drive fans, machine tools, coffee grinders and drills. Mr. Fisker's dream from the start was to own a worldwide company selling merchandise globally.

The Nilfisk C1 was a remarkable breakthrough for the cleaning trade. This ground breaking vacuum cleaner, invented by Mr. Fisker, weighed just 17.5 kilos and can be operated by one person. This creation came in a time where other cleaning equipment were very big and required at least 4 operators, hence, the Nilfisk C1 changed everything and developed the method we clean forever. The brain behind these first cleaning machines remains unparalleled. Cleaning equipment provide an excellent solution to an existing problem; things get filthy and have to be cleaned regularly, without too much effort.

Slowly, the company Nilfisk-Advance grew all through the years. During the the early part of the 1980's the company developed fast when the company became a part of the NKT Group. With new owners on board, they concentrated on driving Nilfisk-Advance ahead within the business, aiming to be an active international player in making professional cleaning equipment. Nilfisk-Advance is now located in all parts of the world by steadily obtaining a lot of smaller companies in order to grow their product selection and presence in new markets.
