 Sweeper Parts High River - The town of High River is located in southwestern Alberta, and presently boasts a population of practically 11,000 residents. High River is just south of Calgary by about 37 kilometres or 23 miles, and sits at the intersection of the 23 and 2 Highways. The Medicine Tree was a real tree situated beside the existing Town of High River site. It was created through a natural grafting which occurred between two cottonwood trees, when the branch of one grew into the trunk of the other.
The Stony and Blackfoot peoples considered the Medicine Tree to be a sign from the spirits which this spot was favoured. It was likewise near the Medicine Tree which traders determined to build a fort, and immediately after settlers arrived to claim the land which is now High River.
The Town of High River Culture Centre is a place for various activities, programs, and special events which are designed to work towards the provision and coordination of services that meet the needs of the local community. Programs are meant for different ages and are designed to expose the local community to various opportunities.
There is a huge studio at the Culture Centre that can be used for various activities like for example dance, music and the arts, and general interest and wellness and health courses.
